Maureen (GER), Tour Colombia 2026

​Due to a cancellation, I was incredibly lucky to have Brita as my tour guide all to myself. It was sensational. I was a complete beginner when it came to off-road driving, and on both tours – we started daily from the home base and returned in the afternoon/evening – I felt very comfortable and safe. We began with easy routes and gradually increased the difficulty and mastered the challenges each day! Even as a woman traveling alone, I always felt safe and very well looked after on our day trips in Colombia, accompanied by Brita and later also by the mechanic, Joel. It was simply fantastic. The challenges demanded a lot from me, but Brita was extremely patient, explaining and demonstrating how to overcome obstacles and always asking me if I felt up to the task. We also took breaks after difficult sections. What did we do? We drove up and down mountains, crossed a suspension bridge, drove through rivers and mud, and conquered trails that I would have previously considered impassable. And I could go on and on. Every day was a truly special experience. Besides all the driving, we also learned a great deal about the country, its people, and its culture. We visited a coffee and cocoa plantation and spent a lot of time in remote, unspoiled areas where tourists don't usually venture. We visited indigenous communities, as well as markets and the tourist hotspot of Santa Martha (the food was delicious!). In short, it was an incredibly intense and fantastic six-day vacation. I flew home full of impressions and experiences, and with new off-road driving skills. I'll be back next year!
